The Tea Party

I was scheduled to interview all three band members of The Tea Party but was told when I arrived at the hospitality suite at Caesars that front man Jeff Martin needed to “rest  his voice” before the show.  I won’t lie, I was disappointed but within moments of speaking to Stuart Chatwood and Jeff Burrows, that disappointment turned into something grand.

The guys were comical, friendly and very candid about their return to The Tea Partyand their feelings about their broken relationship with Jeff Martin. You can still hear it in Chatwood and Burrow’s comments that the wounds have not healed yet but they are open to the possibilities of moving forward to mending fences and healing the hurt of the past.

One thing is certain, their music is something that doesn’t need mending at all.  Hearing them perform together was as it should be.  Perfect.  It was as though they never had parted ways for a moment, let alone years. They were flawless.  They entertained.  They captivated their audience from the moment they took the stage.  They were back and the fans cheers undoubtedly showed the members of The Tea Party that nothing had changed for their adoring fans.  They were glad The Tea Party was together again.

Although the future of  The Tea Party is still marked with uncertainty, there is no doubt that the fans are hoping for more from this talented trio.  They left the stage leaving the fans wanting more. And I left the hospitality suite with a sense of admiration for two talented men who put egos aside and showed such strength of character to put the past behind them, open the door of forgiveness for Jeff Martin to walk through and give their fans what they wanted.  They wanted the phenomenal sounds and music of The Tea Party and thanks in part to these two men, they got exactly what they asked for!
