Fined For Sex?

I’ve heard of paying for sex, but being fined for not having sex? Really? Who would have ever thought you could be fined for not having enough sex?  One man found out the hard way when it hit him right in the pants — that is….right in his wallet.

The 51 year old man was fined 8,500 pounds, which is roughly a little over $13,000 for failing to have enough sex with his wife during their 21 year marriage.

His wife had filed for divorce two years ago citing that the demise of their marriage was due to the lack of activity in the bedroom from her then husband.  Under Article 215 of France’s civil Code, it states married couples must agree to a ”shared communal life”. The judge ruled that this law would imply “sexual relations must form part of a marriage”.

The  judge had granted the divorce and ruled the husband solely responsible for the break up. The 47 year old former wife then then went back to court seeking damages in the form of cash for the lack of sex over the course of their 21 year marriage.

A judge in the south of France’s highest court in Aix-en-Provence was quoted as saying,  ”A sexual relationship between husband and wife is the expression of affection they have for each other, and in this case it was absent. By getting married, couples agree to sharing their life and this clearly implies they will have sex with each other.”
