Six more weeks of winter, that is the general consensus from the two most esteemed winter weather prognosticators.  Tuesday Feb. 2nd is Groundhog Day.

The controversial Wiarton Willie – waning in popularity since the 1999 death scandal – saw his shadow, so … six more weeks of winter!  It was the same situation in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where the now reining king of weather rodents, Punxsutawney Phil, concurred with his Canadian counterpart.

The radical in the group is Ohio’s Buckeye Chuck.  According to Chuck it will be an early spring.

Six more weeks of winter = March 16

Early spring = anything before March 20

If you’re looking for a party, they’ll be whooping-it-up in Wiarton right through the weekend.  Check out Wiarton Willie’s home page @ www.wouthbrucepeninsula.com
