The Tigers and Justin Verlander are all smiles today as it was announced that Verlander signed a five-year contract extension worth $80 million.

“My major consideration is that I want to win,” Verlander said at Thursday’s press conference announcing the signing. “I feel like this organization wants to win and that they put this team into position to win year in and year out. I feel like I’ve grown up in this city. I love the Old English D. I feel at home here.”
